Pouakai

Why pouakai were the killer birds?
The pouakai was a colossal eagle that lived for 20-30 years.
The pouakai was discovered by Julius von Haast, that is why the pouakai
has another name the Haast Eagle.  The pouakai died not long after the
moa became extinct, because the moa was its main food.

The pouakai had a 3m wingspan. It also had 9cm claws as big as a tiger’s.
The female pouakai weighed 10-15kgs, but the male only weighed 9-12kg!
This amazing bird could also fly up to 80 km per hour. The pouakai had brown
and black feathers, and white tail feathers. Pouakai was as big as a moa.
Surprisingly the female was bigger than the male.

The amazing bird lived at Mt Torlesse. The pouakai’s main food was Moa,
but it also fed on people. The bird has only been seen and found in the
South Island.  Pouakai would rip up food with its big talons!

So this proves how magnificent this bird was, by how big its talons were
and how it ate people and children.

Acrostic poem

This is a Pouakai acrostic poem that I did, but instead of using the letter at the front of the sentence we did it like a vine.

Maui demigod pixel art

This is my pixel art that I did online. I had to draw
Maui demigod from Moana. It was hard to draw
Maui because there was lots of detail.

Helping

I had to help a friend called jasmine, to be able to post a
picture on her blog when she gets a blog.

Room 14 Recycling

This is my presentation on room 14 recycling to tell you that we are doing recycling. It would be really cool if you came to room 14 to give us some stuff to recycle!

Mood map

This is my mood map. We did this because in our story the Pouakai there are lots of different moods to keep us excited, so we found parts with very different moods and put it in a presentation.
