Painting
Today I did a painting. I did a painting of a sunrise with flowers and a saying "do what you love." When I did the painting I did the background first then the black, because imagine how hard it would be trying to do the background after the black. When I did the black I did one flower let it dry, then the next flower let it dry, then the 3rd flower. After that I did the bits coming off the flower. The writing I did in sharpie though.

Facts About Katherine Johnson
Died: Feb. 24, 2020
Hometown: White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia
Hired by NASA : June 1953
Retired from NASA: 1986
Katherine Johnson was an american mathematician.
At school Katherine Johnson's knowledge made her a star student, so got to skip 3 whole grades.
When Katherine was the age of 10 she was ready for highschool. Katherine wanted to go to highschool. she wanted to know as much as possible about numbers, the universe, and everything. Sadly the highschool in her town did not accept black people. Katherine and her family had to travel to another town
where they accepted black people in highschool.
where they accepted black people in highschool.
After highschool Katherine became a teacher, because there where no research mathematical jobs for women. Katherine liked teaching but she never forgot her math dreams. In the 1950's NASA started hiring people even black women as mathematicians. When Katherine applied they said they had no spaces left. Katherine had to wait a whole year till they had new spaces. Katherine got the job with NASA. At NASA Katherine's job was to calculate in her head and on paper how the rocket ship would get safely to the moon and back, because one of the things Katherine is kind of famous for in America is helping the first american rocket ship get to the moon and back safely. Katherine also did the calculation's for lots of other rockets. One day a rocket ship exploded, the 3 men in there had there lives at risk. Katherine had to do her calculation's all over again. They had to go the whole way around the moon and back to earth. Luckily Katherine's calculation's where right and they got back safely. Katherine retired in 1986. Katherine died at the age of 101.

Cartoon
This is a cartoon drawing I did. I did this drawing
because I had looked on you tube and seen how
eyes, eye brows, hair, hands, noses and mouths
are drawn. I has a look at a few different videos
and saw how the way you draw characters can
determinate what there expression is and what type
of person they are. After I saw the videos I
decided to draw a cartoon character.

decided to draw a cartoon character.
The character I drew is a girl called Lucy. She
is an ordinary 10 year old girl. She goes to a
school called Scallops school for girls. She has
two best friends, one called Jane who has short hair
and the other called Millie with long hair. Every
day Lucy would walk to school with her two best
friends. Lucy loves spending time with her friends.
After I drew the character Lucy I decided to put her in a story. So I made a 6 picture comic.Where she walks to school with her friends and then finds out a lock-down is happening. At the end of the day she says goodbye to her friends. Then the next day she is really sad because she can not see her friends. So her mum tells her to go on video chat and talk to her friends. So she goes on video chat and talks to her friends. She
finds it really fun!! Then is really happy!!!

Timbuktu
Timbuktu is a city in Mali in Northern Africa,
Timbuktu is just north of the Niger river.
Timbuktu became a permanent settlement
in the 12th century. Timbuktu has a population
of about 32,460.
This is a Camel I drew as my project for Timbuktu.
I decided to study Timbuktu as something to do while
I am at home. Instead of coloring the Camel it's normal
color, I decided to put things in the Camel to do with
Timbuktu. One of the things is a slab of salt another is
a great mosque, some of the other things are flowers,
mountains, and sand all from Timbuktu.
My dad once visited Timbuktu, so I gave him 10
questions to test his knowledge. The questions I gave him
were ones including; what is the capital of Mali? and how
many great mosque's are there in Timbuktu?
3 things I learnt about Timbuktu are that the first french
explorer to go to Timbuktu on foot was René-Auguste
Caillié , there are 3 great mosque's in Timbuktu and
that France took over Timbuktu in 1894. I found all this
information in https://www.wonderopolis.org/
