My Weekend

What did you do in the Weekend?                                                                                                                            On Friday night it was fireworks night.  Did you set off some fireworks? If so, Did you like the shapes and colours they made? In the Weekend I went to Margaret Mayhew playground.  At Margaret Mayhew playground there are really big slides and also lots of ropes to play on.  In the Weekend I also went to my friends house. Fathers Day

What did you do for Fathers Day? I made my dad a coffee, and helped my sister make him breakfast. My brother, sister and I all made my dad a Fathers day card, and my mum helped us get him a present. After  we let my dad chose what we did, we went to the beach and spent a few hours there. Then for dinner, since it was Fathers Day, I made my family dinner and dessert!

Kindness Day

Today is September the 1st, also know as the 1st day of spring. Something you may not know about today though is that today is Random act of Kindness day. For Random act of Kindness day, you do something kind. Today I made my parents a card. I also fed the chickens and collected some of their eggs. Everyday of the year is Kindness day because you should always be kind, but today you have to be extra kind to everyone.  The Random act of Kindness you do could be anything, it could even just be giving your parents/family a hug. What Random act of Kindness are you going to do today? 

 

                      

Making Dinner

 

Yesterday night I made some dinner. For dinner I cooked some steak, potatoes, garlic mushrooms and then I made a salad. Making dinner was really fun.

Prototec Achievement

 

This is a certificate I got from Prototec. The last few days I have been doing Prototec, and getting better and better. Prototec is a maths site, you chose a level then you answer a certain amount of questions. I have to answer 40 questions.  Today I got 100% in 2 minuets and 26 seconds, that is the best time I have got so far.

My New Sport...

                                    

                                  

For reading as you may know, we have been looking into the Olympics. (so doing Olympic related activity's) For this activity I had to invent a new Olympic event, by combining the features of 3 current ones. I combined Figure Skating, Fencing, and Football. The way this event works is you are Figure Skating, but holding a fencing sword to get past the other opponent, while kicking a football trying to score a goal in the net.

Amazing Olympic Uniforms

 

 

This is a slideshow that I made showing how the New Zealand Olympic Uniforms have changed. I made this slideshow because over the past few weeks for reading we have been looking into the Olympics. We have been looking into the Olympics because as you may not know, the Olympics have been happening over in Tokyo. The Olympics have finished now, but in about a week the Paralympics will be starting.  You may not have been keeping up with how many medals New Zealand has, so to tell you they have 7 gold medals, 6 silver medals, and 7 bronze medals.  The Paralympics are the Olympics but instead, people with a disability will be competing.

Did You Feel Emotion?

 Hello, Bonjour, This week at school for writing we have been writing a fictional story to make our reader feel emotion. The reason we have done a story like this is because our learning intention is to deepen our understanding of descriptive language by creating feelings for our reader, such as empathy. We also looked into short sentences. After you have read my story please comment down below. Did you like my story? Did I use good descriptive language?

My legs shake. My hands shake. I see the dark, cold, room. I gloomily walk in and see my dog helplessly lying there. On a cold metal surgical table. I feel a lump in my throat as if there is a metal ball rolling around. I smell the dusty musty air. I start  saying goodbye to Boris. I say sorry for all the mean things I have said. I see the pain in Boris's eyes. I pat him. I think back to the first day we met. The feeling of my sole shrinking and turning hollow gets worse. I  begin losing hope. The pain starts to grow. Memories start to come back. I wish that we could play fetch, just one more time. While I whisper “don't die,  Please don't die” He starts to close his eyes. My tears start to bubble up in my eyes. I can’t take it any more, I have to let it out, so I do. I wonder, when Boris goes to heaven will he see his dead mum again?I then look over. The nurse comes in with a needle and says “it's time,” She starts to inject him, but he jumps up and starts dancing and singing. How did he do that? I wonder. “Are you sure he is sick?” The nurse said. “I think he is OK, it’s a miracle” Next thing I know Boris is flat on the floor as dead as a rock.

This is a picture I drew of Winnie the pooh, piglet, and eeyore. I drew these characters because they are my favorite cartoon characters. I like the characters Winnie the pooh, piglet, and eeyore because they are very cute and have very cool personality's.  

Endangered Animals

 

 

 This is my one of the things I have learnt this week. I learnt about how the Orange Bellied Parrot and how it is one the very endangered animals in the world. 

This is another animal I have learnt about, the White-Clawed Crayfish, it is again endangered very badly. 

The last animal I learnt about was the endangered Bengal Tiger.

Manu

 This is a pretty drawing by Bill. It is a drawing of Manu the wayfinder. Manu is the main character in our storytelling story ¨The Wayfinder¨ So what we had to do was think of words to describe Manu then we swapped books with someone else and then they would draw what we thought of him. 

These are the things I wrote to describe Manu:

• Dreadlocks into mullet
• Big scars
• Ripped clothes
• Lost a finger, eye and leg
• Six pack
• Brown hair
• No nose
• Blood on him everywhere
• Tattoos all over his body

Optical Illusions

 

This is a optical illusion I made. I created this on google drawings. I used lots of circles to create this, I positioned the circles in all different places. So it made an illusion.

This is a picture I colored in google art coloring book. It is a picture of Big Ben, but I made the colors of Big Ben different. The original picture of Big Ben is where it is the normal brown kind of color. Origami/3D paper

 

Today I did some origami. I made a diamond and a love heart. Another name for this type of origami is 3D paper. When I made the diamond it had a lot of folding but it was not that hard, the love heart on the other hand, was quite challenging but I worked it out in the end. 

Summer Pixel Art

 

  

This is pixel art I did. Pixel art is were there are lots of little squares and you color them to make a picture. I did a picture of the beach in summer. The reason I did a picture of the beach is because in the summer one of my favorite things to do is to go to the beach and go for a swim. In my picture I colored the sand with different shades of yellow to make it have texture, with the sea I did the same thing but I also used s bit of green as well.  When I did the clouds and the sun I wanted it to look a bit more realistic so I did a reflection  of then in the water.

Summer Collage

 

This is a summer collage I did.  I put stuff I had done in this collage. In the collage I put a sun for summer, a bike because I had been biking, some planted vegetables because I had been planting,  a girl in water because I had been swimming, and I also put a beach umbrella because I had been to the beach.

Which face is real?

Today I did this quiz were you pick which face is real out of two faces. This is a picture showing what I spotted in this picture that made me decide that the picture on the left was fake, and that the picture on the right was real. First I looked at the hair on the people and saw that the girl on the left, her hair was uneven, but then the girl on the right her hair looked quite even. Next I looked at the facial features and noticed that the girl on the left had a uneven  forehead because it looked like the skin just sort of stopped. The girl on the right though, her face looked petty normal. For me that told me which was real and which was fake. The girl on the right is real and the girl on the left is fake.
